- Use fresh herbs. Fresh herbs really make a huge difference here. They're worth the extra trip to the store.
- Adjust the buttermilk. This recipe is for a "thicker" Ranch that pairs well with wings. If you want to thin it out to use as a salad dressing, just add more buttermilk.
Homemade Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup buttermilk adjust for desired consistency
- 1 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise in a medium bowl.
- Stir in the chopped dill, parsley, and chives.
- Add the garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

- Use fresh herbs whenever possible for the best flavor, but dried herbs can work in a pinch.
