This homemade blue cheese dressing will make you never want to buy store-bought again. Use it as a dipping sauce with smoked wings and enjoy—it comes together in just five minutes. Perfect for game day.

Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing Ingredients

- 1 1/3 cup mayonnaise. A good, high-quality one. If you can get Duke's in your area, go for it.
- 3.5 oz blue cheese. Get a fresh block of blue cheese from the cheese counter, not the pre-crumbled kind, which lacks the richness and bite.
- 1/3 cup buttermilk. For a creamy, distinctive tang.
- 1/4 cup sour cream. Go full-fat, for full flavor.
- 1/2 juiced lemon. For a little brightness and acidity. Freshly squeezed.
- 1/2 clove garlic. Freshly minced, for a little kick of flavor.
- 1/4 shallot. For a little sweet, sharp taste.
Homemade Blue Cheese Recipe Instructions
1. Prepare the shallot and garlic

Rinse and chop the shallot. Mince the garlic, and set both aside.
2. Add ingredients, minus blue cheese, to high-sided container

Add all ingredients except for the blue cheese into a high-sided container.
3. Combine ingredients with an immersion blender

With an immersion blender, lightly blend ingredients together until well-combined.
4. Add half the blue cheese

Add in about half the blue cheese, and blend until it's mixed together with the dressing.
5. Add the remaining blue cheese

Add the remaining blue cheese on top and stir in with a spoon. Serve with our 0-400 wings and enjoy!
