Ingredients
- 2 steaks New York Strip steak
- 1/4 cup seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Place New York Strip steaks on a cutting board and apply a thin layer of olive oil on all sides. Then, add rub all over. Allow the rub to settle on the steak for at least 30 minutes on the counter.
- Preheat your smoker to 180 degrees F with the wood or pellets of your choosing.
- Insert a meat thermometer into the steak before throwing it on the smoker. You don't want to overcook these New York Strips!
- Put the steaks on your smoker and close the lid.
- Remove the steaks after they hit 110 internal. For this cook, this took about 60 minutes.
- Fire up your gas grill and give the steaks a nice sear and crust, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- When your steaks hit 130 internal (or whatever your desired temperature is), pull them off the grill, and let them rest inside for 10 minutes before slicing into them. ENJOY!
